OUR MISSION – Health & Hunger Initiative

Eradicate Hunger:  We work relentlessly to combat hunger in our communities by providing food assistance programs during the holidays and support to those in need. Our goal is to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry and that everyone has access to the sustenance required for a healthy life.

The Thanksgiving season is such a special time for families to gather, enjoy a meal and make lasting memories, but the holidays can also be very difficult for many families within our community.

Our non-profit organization is committed to addressing disparities in Education, Housing, Health and Hunger and assisting families who are facing hard times in those areas. Since 2022, ASA Cares Charities, Inc., during the Thanksgiving holiday has donated whole turkeys to families so that they are able to have a great meal on Thanksgiving Day. In 2024, in partnership with government agencies, social service charities, local businesses, and farmers, during the holiday season not only did we remain committed to serving families whole turkeys but in addition, we added a healthy food box component offering fresh produce, grocery items such as frozen meat, canned food and dry goods like pasta and rice. Our healthy food boxes given to families contain more than just enough food to make a Thanksgiving meal for the whole family.

We can only eradicate hunger when we work together. Non-profits, public agencies, community groups, local businesses and farmers invest their resources, time and talents to make our mission come to life. They amplify our ability to change the lives of those we serve.
